Strategic Plan Update: Thanking Our Richfield Community

As we continue planning for the 2026-31 Strategic Plan, we want to start with a simple but important message: thank you.

Over the past several months, families, staff and community members have shared thoughtful feedback through focus sessions, conversations and our Strategic Plan Feedback Survey. Your input continues to play a central role in shaping the future of our district, and we are grateful for the time and care you’ve put into this process.

Looking Back: 2021-26 Strategic Plan

Our current strategic plan has served as a roadmap for the past five years – guiding our work to inspire and empower each individual to learn, grow and excel in an equitable environment.

Because we asked consistent questions on our annual survey throughout this time, we’ve been able to track growth and better understand how experiences across our district have evolved. This progress reflects the collective efforts of our students, staff and community – and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

What We’re Hearing

As we look ahead, your feedback is helping us identify both our strengths and areas for growth.

While we are still in the process of finalizing themes, early input highlights:

  • A continued focus on strong academic experiences and student outcomes.
  • The importance of safe, welcoming and inclusive school environments.
  • The value of communication and partnership between schools and families.
  • Opportunities to build on programming, support and student experiences.

These insights will directly shape the priorities and goals of our next strategic plan.

Looking Ahead: 2026-31 Strategic Plan

Our next strategic plan will continue to serve as a roadmap – guiding how we strengthen school climate, improve academic outcomes and support every student in partnership with our community.

As part of this next phase, you can expect:

  • Updated priorities and goals that reflect what we heard from our community
  • New survey questions in the coming years aligned to these priorities
  • Ongoing opportunities for engagement and feedback

Next Steps

Following the School Board’s review in May, we will share a draft of the 2026-31 Strategic Plan with our community. There will be additional opportunities to provide input before the plan is finalized.

Implementation planning will begin this spring and summer, with full implementation launching in the 2026-27 school year. As with our current plan, we will continue to evaluate progress, make adjustments and report outcomes to our community along the way.

Thank you again for your partnership and for helping shape the future of Richfield Public Schools.
