Important Dates for Elementary Transition to Hybrid (PK-5)

Greetings Richfield Families, 

As you know, our PK-5 students who were previously enrolled in the hybrid program will be returning to the classroom on Monday, January 25. To allow teachers time to prepare for the transition, we have made some adjustments to the school calendar for our elementary families. 

Thursday, January 21

• Distance learning students: School will continue as scheduled.
• Hybrid students: No school (synchronous learning). This will allow teachers time to prepare for the transition to in-person learning. Asynchronous activities may be assigned, but are not required. Your child’s teacher will provide information on expectations.

Friday, January 22

• All PK-5 students: No school (synchronous learning). This will allow hybrid teachers time to prepare for the transition to in-person learning and distance teachers time to prepare for any student roster changes. Asynchronous activities may be assigned, but are not required. Your child’s teacher will provide information on expectations.

Monday, January 25

• All K-5 students: School resumes. Students in the hybrid program are now in-person 4-days per week, and distance learning students continue as previously scheduled.
• Preschool students: Students in the hybrid program return to their most recent hybrid half-day schedule and distance learning students continue as previously scheduled. Please direct questions to your child’s teacher or school.

Friday, January 29

• All PK-12 students: No school or synchronous learning for our districtwide professional development day (as previously scheduled).

If your child has been participating in the Tier 1 Childcare program for essential employees, this will continue unchanged through Friday, January 22. Beginning the week of January 25, this will transition to a Wednesday-only program for students in the hybrid program. Learn more on our Tier 1 childcare web page.

Look for detailed information from your child’s teacher and/or school in the next few days that will provide you with any school and class-specific information to help with the transition.
