5th-grade families: Get ready for middle school!
Dear Fifth-Grade Families,
We are excited to help prepare you and your child for a successful transition to Richfield Middle School! Here are a few upcoming events and activities to mark on your calendars.
- Sixth-Grade Information Night: Get ready for middle school! This is your chance to learn more about the courses, activities and staff at Richfield Middle School! Join other fifth-grade students and families from across the district for this evening of information and exploration as you prepare for the 2025-26 school year. The evening includes a formal presentation, informal meet and greets and an opportunity to tour the building and meet teachers, as they will be hosting activities in their classrooms for our RMS curriculum night.
- Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, from 6-7:30 p.m.
- RMS Auditorium (7461 Oliver Avenue S)
- Classroom Visits: Richfield Middle School staff and students will visit all fifth-grade classrooms to talk with students about getting ready for middle school! Your child will have the opportunity to learn about RMS course offerings, after school activities and overall student life at RMS. In addition, students will hear directly from current RMS students about their middle school experience and have the chance to ask them questions.
- Centennial: March 13
- Richfield Dual Language School: March 11
- Richfield STEM Elementary: March 11
- Sheridan Hills: March 13
- RMS Tours: Fifth-grade students will visit RMS this spring to tour the school, talk with current students and learn more about the exciting opportunities that await them in middle school. Field trip buses will bring students to/from their elementary school. These typically take place toward the end of March or Early April. Look for more information as we get closer to spring break.
We are excited to meet your family and welcome you to Richfield Middle School! We know your child will thrive here as they take the next step in their educational journey.
Please feel free to reach out to the Richfield Middle School counseling team at any time if you have questions about RMS or would like to discuss any support that your child may need during the transition.
